How to Configure Outlook 2016 Windows 10

In the last update of Windows 10, there was a change in the process of setting up an email account in the Outlook version 2016 program that belongs to the Office Suite.

Following are the steps to configure Outlook 2016 Windows 10:

Step 1:

You execute the program MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2016 that comes in the “SUITE” Microsoft Office when the screen is displayed with the “Welcome to Outlook”, you must enter the full address of your email and select “Advanced Options”.

Step 2:

When displaying “Advanced Options”, you must select the option “Allow me to manually configure my account” and click on “Connect”.

Step 3:

After clicking on “Connect” the legend “We are preparing everything” will appear and you will have to wait a few seconds to go to the next screen.

Step 4:

A menu of options for “Choose the type of account” will be displayed and you must select the one corresponding to the type “POP”.

Step 5:

You need to add the “Password” and click “Next”.

Step 6:

The screen appears with the phrase: “The account configuration is complete”, the box with the phrase “Configure Outlook Mobile on my phone also”, It should not be selected. Finally, you must click on “Accept”.

Step 7:

Once the configuration is finished, the “Inbox” will appear, apparently, our account is already installed. However, you still need to make the last adjustments, now you must click on “File”

Step 8:

When you will see a new screen, you must “double click” on the email account that you have already configured. Here you will have to click on “More configurations”. And click on “Advanced”.

Step 9:

Next, you should consider the following:

  1. a) You must select the boxes corresponding to “Leave a copy of the messages on the server” and “Remove from the server later”
  2. b) You must reduce the days that we will keep the files on the server in “2 or 4 days”, (note: this does not mean that your emails will be deleted from your computer).
  3. c) And click on “Accept”.

Step 10:

When clicking on “OK” and if the configuration is correct, two green “popcorn” should appear, to finish you must click on “Close”, “Next” and “Finish”.
